Sierpe Wildlife Mangrove Tour
Discover a hidden paradise in the mangrove forests of the Sierpe River in Costa Rica!
Sierpe is the gateway to the most extensive virgin mangrove forest in Central America and a refuge for countless species of birds and other wildlife. The village is peaceful and authentic, located at the banks of the river by the same name. From here, we start all our tours.
The natural beauty of the Sierpe River and the mangrove channels are breathtaking; the mangrove forest is hallucinating. In Kokopelli, we do our best to provide your group with an unforgettable experience. We can show you some places even the locals have never seen before…
Our guided tours travel through the protected tributaries and mangroves with abundant wildlife. Join us to have a chance to see three different species of monkeys, many birds including Macaws, Herons, Egrets, Caracaras, Kingfishers, and Hawks, plus the slow-moving sloth, crocodiles, caimans, snakes, turtles, the speedy Jesus Lizard racing over water and so much more. Our multi-lingual local guides know the river well. Upon spotting an animal or bird, they will position the boat for an excellent viewing and the perfect camera shot.
The fun three-hour tour includes a Bimini-shade top boat, bottled water, and fruit soda to stay refreshed. An exciting and informative time, sharing the beauty and uniqueness of the tropical flora and fauna of Sierpe’s River’s delicate ecosystem.
